Think you have what it takes to win our Valentine's Day trivia? Here's a sneak peek: Which of these mollusks uses their color-changing abilities to pretend to be the opposite sex?
A. Land Snails
B. Octopus
C. Oyster
D. Cuttlefish
Answer: Male cuttlefish outnumber females, making for fierce competition. Males battle for females, so the smaller males wouldn't stand a chance. Instead they use sexual mimicry, physically changing their color and pattern. To avoid attracting the attention of larger males, and simultaneously attract a female, they exhibit male coloring on the side of their body facing the female, and female coloring on the side facing the larger males.
